One of my client, let’s call her Abby, was accidentally locked into a narrow dark space at the age of seven. The door to the basement fell in behind her and could not be unlocked. Little Abby was not found by her family for several hours. She felt helpless and scared, trapped in an unfamiliar place. Even though her family later rescued and comforted her, the experience imprinted itself on the child’s psyche. Under the duress of the situation, Abby left an aspect of herself behind in that cold, dark space.
Key decisions are often made at times of stress, and the results of these choices can affect us for our whole life, even when we do not have access to conscious recollection of the event. The adult Abby suffered from claustrophobia which affected her choices and her quality of life. She probably did not know that her soul fragmented as a seven-year old child. On some level of reality, the child was still in that basement, scared and disoriented.
During Soul Retrieval, Abby went back to the experience itself and communicated with the seven-year old child. In an altered state, she accessed the memory, the experience and the fragment of her soul that was the frightened little girl. The healing began with the connection between the child and the adult, thus uniting the various aspects of Abby’s psyche. Old trauma was released and the child felt safe and loved in the presence of the adult Abby.

Soul retrieval is a journey through time and space. Imagine reaching out, extending a helping hand and loving that split-off piece of self back into wholeness. With guidance, we reconnect and retrieve the lost part that got stuck somewhere in our past. In this journey of Soul Retrieval, the self is made whole again. The process itself is one of assisted self-healing. With your permission, I act as your trusted guide to assist you on your journey and to create a safe and supportive space for healing.
Many sacred traditions view Soul Retrieval as a shamanic journey, where the shaman acts as your guide across the dimensions. In a way, I am a modern-day shaman, even though I usually do not use shamanic rituals. I do not invoke spirits as shamans often do, but I always ask the Angels and Beings of light to assist in helpful and appropriate ways for my client’s highest and best good.

Choose a day with a light schedule, so you can take some time after your session to rest, take a walk, or journal. Enjoy some healthy light food at your usual meal time, if needed. Take time to be with yourself in quiet reflection. It is best to avoid noisy places and demanding people or tasks on that day. After your session, which lasts about 1.5 hrs, you may feel a bit ‘spacey’ or slightly disoriented. Drink plenty of water and rest a little before you get back behind the wheel of your car again.
Journaling is a powerful tool to ‘anchor’ your experience. Over the course of about seven to ten days following a Soul Retrieval session, many clients experience more vivid dreams and sharpened awareness. Emotionally, you may feel a little ‘raw’ and vulnerable. This is quite normal and part of the process. You have integrated a part of your soul that was perhaps lost for a long time. It may take some time to align on all levels with the new, more connected self.
Have you ever hurt your back on one side, and then found that the body compensated too much for the imbalance on the other side? Similar effects happen on the level of soul. It takes time to find your balance again. Be patient, allow for feelings to emerge, write about them or share with a trusted advisor or friend. In time, you will feel more present with yourself, more at peace, living your life with greater joy and freedom.
